DECEIT 2 - 2026.4.2 - BOTS, MENU UPDATE & FIXES

Bots arrived as an experimental Custom Games option at the start of this season, and today brings some updates to them. With this patch they're enabled by default in Custom Games, and they're a lot smarter. They need a clear view of a Weak Point before calling anyone out, they no longer loiter around Boris once they've voted, and they can vault and climb their way through a chase like the rest of you. Hosts can still switch Bots off in the Custom Game options, and Bots won't appear in public matchmaking.

The main menu has also been updated, with a new layout for the Play screen, and we've fixed a batch of the issues you've reported since the season launched, including respawn problems, visibility in the Shroud Arena on Circus, and Terrors executing earlier than they should.

PATCH NOTES

IMPROVEMENTS

  • Bots are now enabled by default in Custom Games. Hosts can still disable them in the Custom Game options.

  • Bots now need a clear line of sight to a Weak Point before calling a Subject out.

  • Bots no longer crowd around Boris, and will leave once they've voted.

  • Bots now wait a few seconds before moving at the start of the game.

  • Bots now resume their pursuit after voting.

  • Bots now use traversals such as vaulting while chasing and escaping.

  • Bots can now complete more tasks.

  • Reworked the menus, including an updated layout for the Play screen.

FIXES

  • Fixed Echolocation causing a black screen on Project Wurgen.

  • Fixed players not respawning correctly after falling off the map.

  • Fixed the Phantom respawning where they were downed when becoming a Menace.

  • Fixed being unable to see in the Shroud Arena on Circus.

  • Fixed Subjects being debuffed during the transition into the Shroud Arena.

  • Fixed the eyes and mouth of Jak's Ohmwrecker skin being visible in first person.

  • Fixed Terrors occasionally being able to execute Subjects at a higher sanity than intended.

  • Fixed the Clown and Wyrtorn Terrors not playing the immobilised animation after grabbing someone.

  • Fixed the Return Pad not showing any effect when a Subject teleports.

Bots are still evolving, so if you catch one doing something it shouldn't, let us know on Discord or through the in-game bug report. As always, keep the reports coming. See you in the next Reality!
